Blog: Children's Liturgy of the Word
In every age God cares for his people like a parent. He is always ready
with an open heart to heal and embrace and forgive.
"For the Son of Man did not come to be served
but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many."
I prayed, and prudence was given me;
I pleaded, and the spirit of wisdom came to me.
I preferred her to scepter and throne,
and deemed riches nothing in comparison with her,
nor did I liken any priceless gem to her;
because all gold, in view of her, is a little sand,
and before her, silver is to be accounted mire.
Beyond health and comeliness I loved her,
and I chose to have her rather than the light,
because the splendor of her never yields to sleep.
Yet all good things together came to me in her company,
and countless riches at her hands. Wisdom 7:7-11
The Lord God said: "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a suitable partner for him."
So the Lord God cast a deep sleep on the man, and while he was asleep, he took out one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. The Lord God then built up into a woman the rib that he had taken from the man.
When he brought her to the man, the man said: "This one, at last, is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; this one shall be called 'woman,' for out of 'her man' this one has been taken." Genesis 2:18-24
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.
V. Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created.
R. And You shall renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray.
O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
"Why do you have fights and arguments? Isn't it because you don't get what you want, you are jealous, and so you fight and argue?"
"Give up these evil ways. Stay near to God and God will stay near to you." James 3:14-18, 4:1-3, 7-8
What good is it, my brothers and sisters,
if someone says he has faith but does not have works?
Can that faith save him?
If a brother or sister has nothing to wear
and has no food for the day,
and one of you says to them,
"Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well, "
but you do not give them the necessities of the body,
what good is it?
So also faith of itself,
if it does not have works, is dead. James 2:8, 14-17
Thus says the Lord:
“Have courage! Don’t be afraid! Your God is coming with justice to reward and save you.”
Then those who are blind will see. Those who are deaf will hear. The crippled will jump like deer. And those who cannot speak will sing. Isaiah 35:4-6
"I am the living bread that came down from heaven," says the Lord; "whoever eats this bread will live forever."
Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”
